What is the DSR CEO Wheelchair Challenge?

As a CEO or Community Leader participating in the Disability Sport & Recreation (DSR) CEO Wheelchair Challenge, you are raising awareness and actively advocating for accessibility, inclusion, and the rights of people with disabilities.

This initiative is a highly visible and inclusive activation for CEO’s and Community Leaders, that is aligned to the DSR strategic pillars of Engagement and Impact supporting Sustainability to achieve the vision of choice and access for sport and recreation through the quality of interaction in the disability sector and broader community.   

What is the purpose of the DSR CEO Wheelchair Challenge?

  • Encourage a deeper understanding of accessibility issues.
  • Support fundraising efforts for DSR to continue providing essential sports and recreation opportunities for people with disabilities.

Who can register for the DSR CEO Wheelchair Challenge?

CEOs, Executives, Business, and Community Leaders are invited to register.

Support the DSR CEO Wheelchair Challenge by donating to a registered participant (click 'Find a friend' in the top right-hand corner to search) or directly to the Challenge itself.

Your contribution will directly fund essential programs and services such as sports, recreation, rehabilitation, and community engagement.

How can I get involved?

How You Can Get Involved:

Register – Sign up for the DSR CEO Wheelchair Challenge by clicking the "Register" tab at the top right of the homepage. Simply fill out the registration form to create your account.

Donate – Click the "Donate" tab at the top right of the homepage, or use the search bar to find and support a specific participant.

Spread the Word – Share the DSR CEO Wheelchair Challenge on your social media! Visit our 'Resources' page for downloadable social tiles, with more coming soon.

Stay updated by following DSR on social media as we post leading up to the event. Don’t forget to like, comment, and share to keep the conversation going!

What are the important dates?

The DSR CEO Wheelchair Challenge was launched in late September.

On Thursday 24th October from 7:30am there will be a breakfast held at the MCG for the Challenge Day with keynote speakers and distribution of wheelchairs, training and safety instructions for the participants before they roll out.

The challenge will continue for participants until mid November.



Is there a minimum fundraising amount?

To participate in the DSR CEO Wheelchair Challenge, each participant is encouraged to reach a minimum fundraising target of $5,000.

But don't let that limit you—the sky’s the limit!

Your generous donations will make a significant difference in the lives of people living with disability.

Is there a cost to signup and participate?

There is no cost to sign up and participate and only a minimum fundraising target of $5,000.

Can I invite a colleague, friend or family member to take part?

We encourage CEOs, Executives, Business, and Community Leaders to register for the DSR CEO Wheelchair Challenge. All participants are required to fundraise and meet the minimum target to join the event.

What happens once I register?

Once you register, you'll receive a confirmation email. The DSR CEO Wheelchair Challenge team is here to support you every step of the way.

How can I donate?

Looking to support a colleague, friend, or family member who has registered?

To donate, click the 'Donate' button at the top right of the homepage. Alternatively, you can use the search bar in the top right corner to find the individual you wish to support.

Where and how do I get my wheelchair?

The intent is to have as many participants receive their wheelchair on Thursday 24th October at the MCG.
 
In some cases, as there are teams or groups registered, DSR will arange delivery to the workplace at a suitable date and time.

Where do I return the wheelchair?

Our team at DSR will liaise and arrange collection of the wheelchair.

What if I don't meet the fundraising target?

We’re confident that you’ll not only meet your fundraising target but exceed it!

If you don’t reach the minimum target of $5,000, rest assured that your valuable contributions will still make a difference.

Every dollar raised supports DSR in continuing our vital services and programs, both now and in the future.
